450 Racers Cross the Finish Line
Arrowhead Nordic hosted its first of two Elementary Races today. It was a classic (traditional technique - no skating) race.
It is the largest Nordic Ski Race for elementary school children in Canada! 450 students from grades 1 to 8 completed the race. (there were a few Trillium Racers from Huntsville High School as well). Schools brought groups of children from all over Muskoka, and they had a wonderful day racing, and skiing the trails afterwards.
Race Results can be viewed here at the Zone4 website.
The next Elementary School Ski Race is a freestyle event. Skating is allowed but participants may classic ski if they wish. It will be held on February 26.
The ski club wishes to thank Arrowhead Provincial Park Staff for their excellent grooming and assistance, Zone4 for its timing assistance, and the MANY volunteers that come together to make this event happen.
