Eagle Para Skills Nordic Program
Eagle Para Skills Development
The Eagle Para Skills Nordic Development Program aims to encourage young participants with disabilities to become engaged in winter activities that are close to their communities.
The Eagle Para Nordic Skills Program empowers athletes with either congenital or acquired disabilities to learn, grow, and excel in the sport of Nordic skiing. Our programming goes beyond skill development—fostering confidence, independence, friendship, and strong connections within the community. Each season, we celebrate participants achieving new milestones, discovering new strengths, and realizing their potential both on and off the trails.
Para Nordic skiing includes three athlete categories:
Blind/Visually Impaired (VI) — also referred to as Standing VI
Amputee/Functional Impairments — also referred to as Para Standing
Lower Limb Paralysis/Spinal Cord Injuries — also referred to as Sit Skiing
For more information visit the Canadian Paralympic Committe page on Para Nordic Skiing.
Adults with intellectual, emotional, behavioural, or cognitive disabilities are supported through the Special Olympics organization which also runs a ski program at Arrowhead Park. Please contact secretary@arrowheadnordic.ca for more information about the Special Olympics program
