A Few More Details on the Program:
Morning Lesson: Choose between Skate or Classic Skiing when signing up. The choose Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. If you have been skiing for a few years and have had some instruction on weight shift and positioning, please go for advanced to refine your technique.
Guest Speaker: Eva Black
Afternoon Activities: These last approximately an hour and a half. Choose ONE of the following activities:
Arrowhead Adventure: Experience Arrowhead Park in a whole new way! From the creator of Muskoka’s Incredible Race comes a series of fun and wacky winter challenges to experience with a small group (both on skis and off). Featuring versions of iconic Muskoka activities, such as creating a mini hockey rink, (a version of!) dog sledding and becoming an Arrowhead Park animal. Come prepared for a laugh and leave with some good memories and a bit more understanding of the ecology of our area. Suitable for all abilities.
Hok Skiing: Hok Skis or “Skishoes” are a hybrid of showshoes and skis. They are very wide, short skis with a long waxless skin. You use them with regular boots, and they’re great fun for off-trail skiing.
The group will be lead by Pam Carnochan from Find Your Wild.
Ski Shoes generously provided by Find Your Wild and Algonquin Outfitters.Yoga: Renew your energy after your morning ski lesson in an indoor yoga class. The class will be lead by Carrie Campbell.
Ice Skating: Arrowhead Provincial Park has a 1.3 km ice skating trail in the woods. See how many loops you can complete!
Guided Trail Skiing: Go for an extended guided ski on Arrowhead’s classic or skate trails. No lesson this time - just fun, laughter and ‘tips on the go’.
